L. v. Beethoven ...String Quartet in F major, Op. 59 No. 1
H. Wolf ...Italian Serenade
A. Dvořák ...String Quartet in G major, Op. 106
The Piatti quartet took joint second place in the final of the International
String Quartet Competition before a packed Wigmore Hall on April 3rd.
This is what The Times's correspondent, Hilary Finch, wrote about them:
'The British Piatti Quartet, who seemed to be enjoying their music-
making more than anyone else, had shown a characteristically lyrical
understanding of Dvorak's string quartet in G:  an honourable joint
second placing in this particularly satisfying triennial competition.
