A Happy Christmas to all my readers.  The AGM is nigh and now's the chance to elect a replacement scribe should you wish.  I hope the AGM will once again be the scene of lively argument and debate; a sure sign of a healthy DA.

TECHNICAL TIPS.  To avoid losing those expensive Campag (or similar) pedal dust caps a short piece of florists wire can be used.  The wire should be knotted on the inside of the cap then brought through the central hole and tied onto the pedal frame.  If the cap does come loose it will now remain hanging onto the pedal.  Florists wire is neat, unobstrusive and cheaply available from any flower shop.

BED & DREAKFAST.  This one's in the handbook but I can recommend it too.  Mrs Aitkenhead, Fishers Pit Farm, Abbots Bromley.  Tel. Burton on Trent 840204.  Cost for my stay £12.50 B & B and a good evening meal.  Choose the right September weekend and you'll see the famous Horn Dance performed on the front lawn.

TOURING.  Our thanks to Roy Banks for organising a successful tour of the Peak District.  Eleven members enjoyed the rides through lovely countryside and Hartington Youth Hostel is rated as 'super'.  I don't understand this one but I've been told Russ Mantle took the Dairy Crest award on this tour, six bowls of cream are not enough, he needs seven.  Thanks too to Chris Juden.
